Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 - - May 7, 2010) was an American actress, singer, and dancer, who appeared in films in the 1940s and 1950s[2] and on television during the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara became her official name, and she was then offered a contract by Columbia Pictures[citation needed[citation required]. Also, she gained experience with the studio's comedy shorts and B-films. This title was soon changed to Adele Mara. Mara was receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks is the female lead part in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of a wrongfully arrested and released prisoner. After her Columbia contract ended the actress moved to Republic Pictures where she was an regular on outdoor adventures and westerns. She appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar was John's love interestis played by John Wayne, California Passage and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
